Renewable energies

The location of works in this sector has often seen us working in environmentally sensitive locations that are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), or Special Protection Areas (SPAs).

Our involvement within the energy industry has seen us undertaking the civil engineering works associated with wind farms, power transmission lines and electricity substations.

We’ve amassed a great deal of experience in managing the complex logistics of working over large expanses in remote areas.

Since our first wind farm development in 1996, we have built up an understanding of the special requirements of this type of project, involving the construction of access roads to accommodate abnormal loads, turbine foundations, substation buildings and electrical infrastructure.
